One thing I find pretty interesting is that I seldom dine out of hotel resorts in Macau. Either due to the very inconvenient public transportation, or the super satisfying quality in hotel restaurants. Nonetheless, today I finally made my way to a very popular French cafe near Taipa.
KAFKA, a French patisserie owned by a chef who is trained at the Cordon Bleu, is known for their amazing dome shape patisseries. In recent months, they also come up with honey toast box, waffles, souffle (available after 5pm everyday) and savoury products such as carbonara and other pastas.
Coming to the cafe, it is in fact pretty small but inviting. The coffee corner and cake counter, besides are few numbers of table where one should expect waiting in line.
My first visit to KAFKA is of course to try their signatures.
I ordered a Tsujiri and a Taj Mahal, and finished with a highly raved caramel macchiato.
The Tsujiri is indeed very matcha satisfying. It has a nice balance of red bean whipped cream filling to the not so overpowering matcha mousse.
While both cakes are light and delicately made with preciseness, the caramel macchiato is also a noteworthy item to order. The thick foam, the homemade caramel sauce, this lovely cup of milk/coffee is so heartwarming that I bet no one could resist it.
Consider the quality of cake and their hot coffee, this place surely worths a visit or two, or even more.
